Default How do I recognize a corrupt font?

I've got some annoying goofiness with Illustrator that may be caused by a corrupt font or two (or more). How do I know if a font is corrupt and is it repairable? —Thanks folks.

About the only sure way of tracing a bad font is to TURN THEM ALL OFF. Diable every font you have, and launch Illustrator. If things work all right, add a few fonts back in until you start experiencing problems again. Then you can fine tune your search and nail the perp.
