How do I scan both sides of a check to one pdf page - Adobe Acrobat Windows

I am using a fujitsu 4120c scanner with ADF. I use the import->scan command in Acrobat 5.0. I set the scanner to scan (front and back), and load the ADF with 50 checks. Scans all 50 just fine, page 1 -- front of check1, page 2 -- back of check1, continued...

I am using a fujitsu 4120c scanner with ADF. I use the import->scan command in Acrobat 5.0. I set the scanner to scan (front and back), and load the ADF with 50 checks. Scans all 50 just fine, page 1 -- front of check1, page 2 -- back of check1, page 3 -- front of check2, page 4 -- back of check2, ... and so on. Problem is, I have all this extra space on each page.

I would like an easy way to get BOTH sides of the check on ONE pdf page. There is plenty of room. You could fit up to 3 checks horizontally, one over the other on an 8.5 x 11 page. So the pdf would be Page 1 -- Check1 front and back, Page 2 -- Check2 front and back... and so on.

    Checks are 8.5" x 3.5".

What I would do is crop the bottom of all the pages from 11" to 3.5".
Then you can view the pages continously.

If you insist on having each page showing the front and back of one cheque, there are a few ways to go about it.

    1) make an 8.5" X 11" photocopy of the front of each cheque and then stick the cheque at the bottom of the copy with the back showing and make your scan.

    2) scan to TIF or JPG and do your editing in and image editor, combining the front and back of each and then print to PDF.

    3) Maybe Acrobat 6.01 has a feature for this that I might not be aware of.
    Good luck,

Best way to to combine the images in a format other than PDF and then convert.

Thanks for you input...I was hoping for an automated way to do it. Adobe Tech support told me it was possible in 5.0. Thought I would try here before paying the 50 bucks.
