How do I sync spot-colors from Illustrator 10.0 AND Photoshop 6.0 in Quark XPress 4.11
Hi folks!
I want to sep.print a Quark-file wich contains both Photoshop duotone eps.file and Ilustator spot-color eps.file. The problem is that the spot-colors appears with different names in the color-list in Quark, and therefore they also print on seperate plates. Does anyone know how to sync these onto the same plate? Thanks... =)

you just have to give the spot colours EXACTLY the same filename.
i.e: The spot colour in Photoshop may be called 'Pantone 208 CV
whereas in Illustrator its something like 'Pantone 208 CVC'
so you need to locate the colour in illustrator and add it to your 'colour swatch' pallette.
Then if you double-click on that colour in the Swatch it allows you to change the filename
(amongst other things). Just change it to the same name as photoshop calls it
ie: add the extra 'C' at the end or whatever it may be and presto...

Yuk, yuk, wait 'til you are "forced" to use Quark s*x. It has this annoying habit of changing some of the CV to C. Something I remember happening on occasion in quark 3.
It amazes me how quark can get worse by the upgrade.

Use this style for all your colours: 'PANTONE 286 C'
Quark 6 will 'accept' ...CV or ...CVC names but if YOU use them in Quark 6 Quark will place them on a plate called ' ...C'!
So outwit Quark and create all your colours in Photoshop or AI as I have written on the first line of my posting. (You will have to manually edit the colour name to be just '...C')
