Default How do you save print settings in FH10 on OSX 10.3?

I am using FH 10 on a Mac running OSX 10.3.2. When I print, I have to choose a ppd (HP5000) in order to get the results I want. I go to the Freehand 10 section in the pull down menu of the print dialog box and choose my ppd and settings, but the button "save settings" that was there in pervious versions is gone!

How do I save these settings so that I do not have to do them over and over whenever I print?

Mac OSX has changed the way PPD's are selected. You probably have to set up
a 'formatting printer'. See this technote from Apple:

Note to Macromedia: Could we have a FreeHand technote on this issue? This
question is asked on this forum at least once a week.

Default Re: How do you save print settings in FH10 on OSX 10.3?

I don't think I was clear enough in my original post. The problem is not in OSX. I have a printer properly configured there. It's when I am in Freehand 10. I go to Print, then in the pull down menu I select "Freehand 10", in the "print settings area I then click on the radio button labelled "use PPD", click on the browse button and select my PPD.

It used to be that once I had completed this process, I could click on a "save settings" button in the bottom left corner and this would be my default setup anytime I printed. Now the "save settings" button is missing and I have to re-set it whenever I start a new document.

I hope that's more clear. I also hope someone has a fix.

    Thanks,

    Joe
