When it first was announced, I downloaded and tried out Contribute
v1.0, but I remember being disappointed with the seemingly inefficient
file structure. I seem to remember Contribute created a duplicate copy
of my site directly in the wwwroot folder. In other words, I would have
a folder called "FOO" and Contribute created another folder in the same
place called "someprefix_FOO" or something similar. This was not very
acceptible to me back then because it doubled the space which the site
took up on the server, not to mention doubling the number of folders I
had to look at in my local site window. I also remember having a very
hard time cleaning up and getting rid of all the legacy files that
Contribute added to the site once we decided not to use it yet.

We are now looking at Contribute again, and I was wondering if this is
still how Contribute works? If I download and install the trial
version, will I be committed? Is it easy to uninstall? I tried to find
something on Macromedia's site about what is installed with the
Contribute Trial Version, but couldn't find anything.

Finally, what happens when I click the "Enable Contribute
Compatibility" button in the DWMX Site Definition Window? Do I need to
have Contribute Trial installed first?

So, I guess what I'm asking is for any longtime Contribute users to
tell us how Contribute has improved since that first version. I'm using
DWMX on a PC running Windows XP Pro. Thanks very much for your time.
