How long has Contribute been a Studio product?
Hi all,
How long has Contribute been a Studio product? I am sure it was before this
recent release...
I have been using Studio since version 4 and have upgrade twice to get to DW
MX 2004. However, I have checked both my upgrade CDs and neither have Studio on
it.
Was it not available to upgrades? ie. new licences only?
Thanks

Alas, no- Contribute 3 was added to Studio 8 (which has yet to ship, it was> recent release...

Re: How long has Contribute been a Studio product?
I was so sure it was included previously...
I can remember thinking at my previous job two years ago that if we bought
Studio I could give the Contribute licence to a colleague to do basic content
updates while I used the Dreamweaver (course, now I know you need a licence of
Contribute to administer the site :-). I think I moved to my current job before
Studio was bought so I don't know what happened from then...
Searching my brain, I think Contribute was packaged with an upgrade to Studio
MX which came out _after_ my organisation bought the licence... I can remember
being disappointed. Maybe it was packaged this way with Educational licences of
Studio MX - my previous job was in education so I was probably looking into
licences for schools... Actually, maybe the software reseller we bought from
was packaging Studio and Contribute together as a special deal... {:-)

I can assure you that Contribute was never part of Studio before 8. Uou might be thinking of the Web Publishing System bundle?

Version 2 of Contribute came with Macromedia Studio MX Plus - we have several copies of this bundle.
