Re: How to add greek text from Internet Explorer to Illustrator 10.0.3
I need a last help:
If I have the font :
Helvetica Neue 65 Medium Type 1.
If I try to use it with Adobe Illustrator CS and I make copy and paste of greek text from Internet explorer into Illustrator CS I obtain some "?" instead of greek caracter.
If I use Arial OpenType Font of Microsoft text is right.
If I purchase font OpenType Helvetica Neue Std Medium am I able to see correctly the greek caracters?
Thanks for your help.

Biso,
You would require HelveticaT Neue Std Medium US$29.00 which is the OT
font obtainable from :

The type 1 Font would not support Greek characters

Re: How to add greek text from Internet Explorer to Illustrator 10.0.3
This issue have stumped me for the last few weeks. I am working in Illustrator 11CS in Windows XP. We had the body of an Operator's Manual translated to Greek and assembled in FrameMaker + SGML. I then started to create the cover artwork in Illustrator 11CS only to realize the Greek font HellasArial displayed '?' for all characters with accents. After many frustrating attempted fixes - re-installing font and ATM lite and ATM Fix, I realized that in the FrameMaker file the Greek font was displayed as 'Arial Greek' in the font menu - ODD as there was no Arial Greek in Illustrator. I then tried the least likely solution I thought possible and highlighted the Hellas Arial text in Illustrator and changed the font to plain old Arial - and Presto!!!! grey hairs have stabilized. All text attributes function normally i.e. bold, italic etc. FrameMaker seems to have more intelligence built in as it displays the word Greek after Arial. Seems to be using the extended character set.
Hope this is a more simple solution.
Regards
Gerry

However, the OpenType version of Helvetica Neue Std also does not support Greek characters.
The full list of Adobe's font families that support Greek is here:
