I think (hope) this is a simple question - I have a one page pdf that serves as a table of contents for a separate, larger multi-page pdf.
Can I have a link in the table of contents document that links to a specific page in the larger document ... have a link in one pdf point to a specific page of another pdf?

Yes. You need Acrobat 6 Pro (or Acrobat 5) to do this.
