Is it possible to change login and password prompts that appear while
logging in? Are these configurable?

Could you please let me know which part of the source code I can find?
I looked into Kernel code but couldn't find.
I tried to look for source code of login or getty command. I couldn't
find so far.

kernel code, it's definitly in user space.

Depending on the Linux version, it may be in the source to libpam or a
PAM module.
