How to change the Icon

how can i change the icon and the program that is associated with a certian file back to the default of windows xp.
i am having this problem with fireworks, trying to take over any image file

Hello,

You can refer to the TechNote below for the workaround to the issue. We also
have developed a utility that will restore your file association setting to
what it was before you installed Firework.

To restore them manually,
