how to check array element's values if this element isempty - Macromedia ColdFusion

Hi, How do you check the array elements empty or not. for example, I have array[1] - array[10] , and from array[2] to array [10] has some value, and there is no value in array[1]. How can I check it. Because before I can check it using if(array[1] eq "") (in coldfusion 5, it works) but right now I am using coldfusion 7. It gives me an error about undefined value. (java exception). Can you tell me how to check? Thank you,...

    Hi,

How do you check the array elements empty or not.

    for example, I have array[1] - array[10] , and from array[2] to array [10]
has some value, and there is no value in array[1]. How can I check it. Because
before I can check it using

if(array[1] eq "") (in coldfusion 5, it works)

but right now I am using coldfusion 7. It gives me an error about undefined
    value. (java exception).

Can you tell me how to check?

    Thank you,

If you're talking about ColdFusion code, try IsDefined("array") first,
    then maybe ArrayIsEmpty(array)

Also do a <cfdump> to make sure your array has the data you think it
    does.

Or are you talking about some javascript code to do this?

    Hi JJE,

The IsDefined function does not appear to work at all on arrays which was what I was going to suggest (I'm using CF 6.1)

I think you're going to have to error trap it in order to check it.
