Default How to delete files / documents

Is there a way that someone with "Publisher" permissions can delete documents,
such as outdated (and no longer linked) PDFs, Word documents, etc. that are
    posted to the site?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see a general "browse the server"
function that permits a file deletion.

    Any pointers or workarounds appreciated.

    abryant,

You can delete files assuming that the Contribute admin has given you the
privledges to do this. You would also need to know the file name so you could
    browse to it in Contribute.

Once you have navigated to the deletable file, you will then select File >
    Actions > Delete Page.

I might suggest that you look at doing this type of thing with Dreamweaver
since it will allow you to check for orphaned files via the link checker.

The only problem with that is with the web site in question, non-web documents
open in a new window, which Contribute honors by opening the page (when in
browser view) into a new IE window, where Contribute's delete functionality is
    unavailable.

I don't recall the specifics off-hand, but I also seem to recall an issue with
Microsoft Office documents too, since Contribute (because it uses the IE engine
on Windows) opens those with an instance of the Office product (Word, etc.)
    within the browser window.

Bottom line: I still need to enable my client (the Contribute user in this
case) to delete files on their own without calling me to do it, and without the
necessity of browsing to the document first. I'm pretty sure at this point that
it's not possible, but hopefully you or someone will yet have the magic answer.

    abryant,

I poked around with a couple of ideas and if Contribute can't edit the file it can't delete the file.

This would be a good feature request that you might suggest.

    Hey there,
I see that are no answers about the question "how to delete documents?"
You can delete the page, but can you also delete pictures online or pdfs?
And! how can we rename a page? And If we rename it, will all the pages linked
    to this one be updated?
I mean "rename the documentsname" so for example, change "products.html" into
    "bart.htm"

I hope you can help me!
    thanks
