How to Deny Access to Certain User?
I need to know how to deny access to a user (or role, for that matter) in
Contribute 3. A client called me and they fired the worker who was in charge
of publishing new pages to their site via Contribute. I now need to deny
access to that user. I deleted the role and all of the users under that role.
However, when testing out if a deleted user is still allowed to access the site
and edit or post new pages, they still are! How do I stop this?
Have searched in Contribute knowledge base and on these forums, didn't find
any similar question or answer.
Please help soon, denying access to this user is vital.
Thanks in advance.

Re: How to Deny Access to Certain User?
I haven't tried this, but it seems like it should do what you want. As the site
admin, you can edit the role settings to take away the role's ability to
publish files (in the General tab). Anyone else who was in that role will
need a new role without that restriction and new connection key.

Re: How to Deny Access to Certain User?
I actually already delete the role and the users under that role. I thought of
what you suggested after I had already deleted them. Now what?
I had assumed that Contribute would have denied access (or even the
possibility of editing or posting a new page) if the user was no longer listed
in the site connections. So, I guess Contribute doesn't bother to check on the
server if the user is still listed or not?

Re: How to Deny Access to Certain User?
Hmm - well you can always change the ftp password for the user on the server.
You'd then have to create new connection keys for anyone who shared the same
ftp account. I agree - it isn't easy. I think Contribute Publishing Services
includes the kind of user management we'd like, but at an added cost.
