How to enter the Services Mode when bootup
Dears,
Is anyone know how to enter the services mode when bootup, since I need to
re-install the AIX. The machine type is 7026-H80. I try to press key '5' but
still bootup to normal mode. When to press the key (no graphic display to
the monitor).
Regards,
Edmond

Re: How to enter the Services Mode when bootup
Edmond,
I never did like figuring out what key to press and at what point, so if I
need to boot from a mksysb, I just do the following:
bootlist -m normal rmt0 hdisk0
Then I run shutdown -Fr
When the system tries to come up in normal, then it will first try to boot
from the tape drive, and if the image is not bootable on the tape drive, it
will come up off the hard disk like it would normally.

Re: How to enter the Services Mode when bootup
Hi Edmon,
attach a terminal (event hyperterm can do the job) to com1, power off
the machine and press ENTER. You will enter the machine's service
processor that gives You the opportunity to do switch between the modes
like the key at older machines did.
