how to inser special character in tagged text
hi, am trying to insert some special characters (like soft line break with code <0x000A> or non breaking space - <0x00A0>) into a tagged text file, which i then import into indesign, but it's always imported as a text, not the special characters i need. what do i wrong?
thanks

Re: how to inser special character in tagged text
Does all your tagged text come in like that, or only the special characters you insert? I just tried your specific examples with no problems. Have you tried trashing prefs? Is the tagged text file formatted correctly or is ID mistaking it for plain text?

Re: how to inser special character in tagged text
the strange thing is, that formatting of paragraph styles, chracter styles and tables is ok, but all the special characters in the file are imported as a plain text.
what do you mean by trashing prefs?

Make sure your file begins with <ASCII-WIN>

Re: how to inser special character in tagged text
the file begins with <UNICODE-WIN> but i need unicode coding for czech language characters, changing to <ASCII-WIN> causes a lot of mess in text file (missing or wrong characters)...
is there a way these codes could work in unicode?
