    Let your client:

    1. connect to the site
    2. navigate to the page he/she wants edited
    3. click "edit" on the toolbar
    4. click "link" on the toolbar, then "File on My Computer"
    5. fill up value for "link text"
    6. click "browse" and select the image he/she wants uploaded
    7. click "ok"
    8. click "publish"

this process would automatically upload the image to the server.

Default Re: how to link to image

I have been trying to link to an image, using exactly the procedure outlined,
except that I am linking from a thumbnail image rather than text. Here's what
    happens:

I am able to do the linking process just fine.
When I hit PUBLISH, I get a window for "Publish New Linked Pages". This lists
all the images I am linking to in a field called Pages. There is also a field
called Filename, and this lists the first image in the list, but it appends an
extra extension, so it now reads filename.jpg.jpg. If I erase the second .jpg
from the filename, another window pops up saying "Contribute will add the
extension ".html" to the filename you entered.
If I try to publish, the connection conks out in about a minute, even though
the server is NOT down, despite the Contribute error message. I can access the
site with no difficulty using a browser or Dreamweaver. I have been literally
been trying all afternoon to publish one page and 18 images, to no avail.
