How to locate memory dump file
Dear,
We are using SCO Unix 3.2 v 5.0.6. The system shut down by iteself this
morning and got this message:
Panic:
K_trap - Kernal mode trap type.
But I forgot to write down the hardware device number. After I rebooted the
system, I bypassed the request to save memory dump to floppy. When I was
prompted to remove the file, I said "no".
Where can I find the memory dump on the system?
Is it a serious problem?

Re: How to locate memory dump file
With some help from the SCO technical articles, I was able to run a 'crash'
command against the dump in /dev/swap. I have saved the output to a text
file but still have cannot what exactly the problem is.
The dump has a warning on the HP NIC (lost link) but I have been getting
this message for some time. This PANIC only happened once so far. I am
attaching the crash output to see if anyone can shed some lights.

Re: How to locate memory dump file
With some help from the SCO technical articles, I was able to run a 'crash'
command against the dump in /dev/swap. I have saved the output to a text
file but still have cannot what exactly the problem is.
The dump has a warning on the HP NIC (lost link) but I have been getting
this message for some time. This PANIC only happened once so far. I am
attaching the crash output to see if anyone can shed some lights.

driver the root cause of the panic?

99% of the panic was in our SCO 5.0.5 installations the old HP NIC
driver.
