How to make grey screen go away?

At any video site, I first see a dark screen with a small grey icon of a piece
of film in its center , and a +X ( a plus sign and an X) in its upper right
corner.

Only when I click the X does the video then play.

How can I make that first step go away? Thank you.

OS: Windows XP SP2 fully updated,
Browser: Firefox 2.0 (& IE7 but that doesn't work with video at all)
Other: Adobe Macromedia Flash Player 9,0,28,0,
and Shockwave Shockwave Player 10.1.4.020, which both are properly installed
according to

i have never seen it before. Very strange. What kind of movie is it? it it a .mov -file embedded in a shockwave movie or what?
