How to Open Acrobat Reader Automatically in Safari? - Mac Applications & Software

I am wondering if anyone can give me some information on this: how do you set up Safari so that if you click on a link to a PDF file, that it would download the file and then automatically open Acrobat Reader? Is it doable? (This is with OS 10.2.7 and Safari 1.0; any directions for Acrobat Reader 5 or 6 would work.) Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks....

While this is not exactly what you are asking for, I believe that it is
a reasonable alternative. Get "PDF Browser Plugin" at
    <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16527>. It will
allow you to display PDF's in Safari, then a right-click or
control-click will save the PDF to disk.

Check out the "Options" settings in Acrobat Reader's Preferences.
If that doesn't do it for you...

Control-click an existing PDF -> Get Info
Under the "Open With" section choose Acrobat Reader and then click
    the "Change AllŠ" button

[I'd done one or both of these before Safari was ever on my
machine, and Safari does for me what you want..., with nothing
    extra done]
