How to print a borderless pdf document from MS Word

You may wish to use MS Word to generate borderless pdf files, which can be used for presentations instead of MS Powerpoint (n.b. Powerpoint has poor handling of fonts, is not robust between machines, etc).
Normally Word imposes a "printer margin" around all pages; this comes from the print driver used (note "Any Printer" is a print driver!)

1. Open document in Word
2. under File: Page Setup
- choose AdobePDF print driver (comes with Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0)
- choose B5 paper (unfortunately no A5 option is available - ***ADOBE, please note!)
- now go in and set up with Custom size paper: width 14.82 mm, height 20.99 mm, landscape - ie this will create A5 size paper, landscape
3. In Format: Document
- set margins to 0 0 0 0
These margins should remain set, ie MS Word should not prompt you to "fix" them
4. Now set up indents within document to restrict text to where you want it (i.e. pseudo internal margins). You will have to move "floating" pictures as well, to reflect new margin of zero.
5. set up new print option within Adobe Distiller using A5 paper, and name it (eg Standard_A5)
6. When printing from Word, choose this Distiller option under "PDF Options". You can set up another printing option within Word to do this automatically.

Unfortunately the final pdf document will have white margins on 2 or 3 sides (the difference between B5 and A5 paper). In Adobe Professional, use the crop function to cut the pages down to 14.82 x 20.99 cm
