how to remove lock - Macromedia Contribute General Discussion

Message says that can't edit homepage because it's being edited by another user. This is not true. How can I remove this lock?...

    Message says that can't edit homepage because it's being edited by another user. This is not true. How can I remove this lock?

    If you do not get the option to override/rule the lock, you can contact your
    server using an ftp-client (windows explorer, filezilla) and delete the .lck
    file concerning your page. Don't worry about deleting that file, the only
    content is a name and emailaddress.

    Unfortunately this did not work. I went onto server and deleted the .lck file but it came right back as soon as I attempted to edit the homepage with contribute.

    Problem solved with help of Adobe technical support! I deleted .lck file from
    server. Then I went to local settings/app data/adobe/contribute
    cs4/en_US/sites and deleted everything in sites folder. Evidently sites
    contains local locks. So have to delete locks from both server and your
    computer.
