how to safely shrink log file? - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

i am working on a database and doing a lot of insert, delete, update statements while testing it. So the transaction log file has become huge. Right now its size is 1.09GB while the actual DB file size is 88.1 MB. Is it possible i can shrink the log file while my DB file still works properly? Thanks...

After reading help, I am quite confused. It seams like there is a logical
shrinking and a physical shrinking of log file. I am supposed to do logical
shrinking first before physical shrinking. How can I do both? Thanks
