Default How to save default FHMX template?

I'd appreciate some help saving my default setup for FHMX so that when I open a
new document I'll have everything laid out for my usual work. I've tried to
save my usual layout as a Freehand Template to the following directory:
    c:\program files\Macromedia\Freehand MX\English\First Run (which I found by
searching for files with the FT11extension) and overwriting the file name of
Defaults.FT11, but when I restart FH and open a new document, everything's back
to FH's regular setup. Where, oh where, is the file that FH calls on startup
for new docs? (This was so easy in FH8.... ) Thanks for your assistance!

You will need to point to the new template in your Preferences.

Look in the Help files for the topic, 'Creating a new default template'. It
will tell how how to do this on your platform.

Thanks very much. Have now found where the correct default template was hiding, after modifying two other so-called "default" templates that were impostors!
