I work in InDesign CS on a panther workstation. One of my commercial printers has a RIP that only works with the older PDF formats... My workaround is instead of making a PDF, I make an EPS of each page, making sure it's on Postscript level II. (I think the newer PDF are PS level III) Anyway, these eps files RIP just fine. We're all much happier now.
