How to set a deadline in browser-based proofing?
I have browser-based proofing set up companywide on an internal WebDAV server. It seems to be working just fine.
What I'd like to do now is specify a deadline when sending out the e-mail notification for a new review. The deadline has to be enforceable, i.e. at the specified date and time, the review PDF becomes read-only. Reviewers will be able to view the document but will no longer be allowed to leave additional comments.
Is this possible? I'd settle for doing it manually for each review at the appropriate time if needed. If so, how?

Lock the file after the deadline has passed.

Locking the file is a good idea.
I normally include a message in my reviews that states a date that all commments are due. I also mention that their silence by that date will be taken as their approval.

When you suggest locking the file, do you mean change access permissions at the OS level or enable security in the PDF to prevent commenting?

Re: How to set a deadline in browser-based proofing?
You might want to look into Livecycle Workflow - this can perform these
types of functions if I'm correct. Big pounds/bucks though !
Remember, all comments are timestamped in the PDF, so this might be a
way of verifying the times once the file is pulled off the WebDAV server?
There are reported better features in Acrobat 8 - but none that cover
your exact requirements as far as I can read?
