Default How to set up Cold Fusion

Hello,
I have a rather general question about ColdFusion as I have little knowledge
about how to use it. I am a 19 year old college student trying to get a very
small business going in my small town. In order to help get my business going I
have decided that I need a website (www.goodtimefilms.com). I have had good
success so far creating a website, using Contribute and Dreamweaver, however, I
have become stuck on one thing I would like to do. Want I want is to create a
login page where users of my site could login and have there own account page.
I dont need anything complicated. All I want to have is a list of users on my
site and when they click on their name in the list it takes them to there own
login page, where, if they login correctly it would take them to their own
account page. When I first started I thought this would be a simple task,
however, after trying to figure it for several weeks on my own, I have realized
I just dont understand what I am doing here. I have a hosting service through
www.godaddy.com and have purchased Cold Fusion Support for it so I know that
will work, however, I do even know what I need to do when I am installing Cold
Fusion. I have downloaded the free developers version from Macromedia, but
other than that I dont know what to do. Any help that anyone could give me
would be great. And if anyone feels like metoring someone, then email me at
jbspeckhard@goodtimefilms.com. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

If you have CF support through a hosting company such as godaddy.com,
you can install CF on your local machine for development purposes, but
you don't need to install anything on the remote server (in this case
meaning godaddy.com's server). They will have installed CF so all
you'll need to do is upload your CF files and they should run just fine!

For your site you might want to look at something like cfNuke
http://www.mycfnuke.com which gives you a ready-made site which you can then
customise in any way you like. Its free and has plenty of plug in options
(forums, shopping cart, etc.) user account management is ready to use with
special accounts for site administrators and content editors.

cheers.
