I am wondering if there is a way in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional to tell if a PDF that is supplied by a client is hi res. How can I tell what the resolution is or the PDF and the images it contains? Thanks.

PDF files don't have a resolution. They can contain images which are at a different resolutions. They way to tell is to run a Preflight profile. Choose Advanced > Print Production > Preflight. Open the PDF Analysis section. Run one of the profiles like "List images below 300 ppi"
