Re: How to turn off anti-aliasing?
You can try feathering your selection. You might also be able to get away with changing the image mode to Indexed. Then under Image|Mode|Color Table, you can use the picker to select what colors are transparent (and then add your pink).
You can also use Select|Color Range. You can also use Filter|Extract.
Then there's using the pen tool to create a path, then convert that path to a selection.
Remember that many of your Color Based tools for selecting colors, like Color Range, and the Magic Wand tool are driven by the setting of the eyedropper. That is to say, the sample area used will be that which is defined by the eyedropper (1 pixel, a 3 x 3 area, or a 5 x 5 area). So set that first to help fine tune your selection tools.
Something in that mix may help...

Yrbk,
Thank you.
"...and the Magic Wand tool are driven by the setting of the eyedropper. That is to say, the sample area used will be that which is defined by the eyedropper (1 pixel, a 3 x 3 area, or a 5 x 5 area)." sure explained some things.
If I'm understanding correctly, narrowing from 5x5 to 3x3 to 1 will narrow the "band" the tolerance setting works on giving possibly more "Select Plus" selections but fewer "cover them over with red" ones.
Please let me know if this idea/thought is correct or not.

Re: How to turn off anti-aliasing?
I was thinking of what would seem to be the possibility of having to make additional magic wand selections and having to do less painting of over selections in Quick Mask mode. My way of asking is due to being mostly self taught in Photoshop and not knowing the proper terms. I apologise for my un-clearness.
I know, the word is clarity. I was poking fun at myself.

Re: How to turn off anti-aliasing?
Ah, then I gotcha Bill. Yes, you're right and that's the real power behind the magic wand (for example). If you can't seem to get your tolerances right in the options bar, you can change the eyedropper sample area and sometimes do better (or worse) by changing what Magic Wand will use as the source sample to match. I play that game all the time.
Peace,
Tony
