How to uninstall WebAssist?
I have uninstall WebAssist from the Macromedia Extension Manager and also
delete the folder WebAssist folder in the use's profile's Shared folder, but I
still receive a bunch of errors regarding WebAssist. Every time when I tried to
open Dreamweaver MX 2004, I kept receving this the following error:
JavaScript error while loading WA_DelimProviders.htm:
Unable to open script file "C:\Program Files\Macromedia MX
2004\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\Library\WA_XLM .js" (error 3).Unable to open
script file "C:\Program Files\Macromedia MX
2004\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\Library\WAHelp _Library.js" (error 3).
There are others too..but depends on what butons or options I click. But the
above error is one exmaple of errors I received after uninstalling. I hope
someone will be able to help me clear this error.
Any help is appreicated.

Extension Manager, or that there is a different WebAssist extension that
is trying to find the files in the folder that you deleted. My suggesion
would be to reinstall al;l of your WebAssist extensions, then without
starting DW, immediately uninstall the one you no longer work.
Beyond that, you should go to the WebAssist support pages:

Re: How to uninstall WebAssist?
Thank you for the response. One thing I do not want to do is re-install. I even
scan all the register for the word WebAssist and nothing was found. So I'm
guessing there must be something settings somewhere in the DW MX 2004 folder or
the application itself. I could not find any files in my profile or computer
relating to WebAssist so I'm stock.
I did go to webassist website but I believed you have to pay to get the
support.

couple of otehr choicse:
1. Live with the issue
2. Delete your entire *user* config folder.
3. If you ever installed an extensio when signed in as the system
Administrator user (not an admin user, but *the* Administrator), then
you can also have another config folder:

Step 2 will cause all of your installed extensions to be removed, but it
should clear up the issue.
I suggest that you try reading that page again. While there is premium> I did go to webassist website but I believed you have to pay to get the

Where is the "user" configure folder? Are you referring to the Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration folder?

Reading back on the error message, it may be that you're getting an
error from a DataSource extension. If it is still listed as being
installed, then uninstall it. If it isn't listed, then go to the user
config folder, and look for the DataSources folder and remove any files
that have a WA_ prefix, restart DQW and see if you're still running
into that error.
