HTML-Attribute TITLE - set funcionality?
This might not be an ASP or database question - but I am using it in
that environment...
When I declare the attribute TITLE in a tag i.e.:
<A HREF="MyFile.asp" TITLE="MyTitle">PRESS HERE</A>
In IE 6.0 and I think in most earlier versions too a small yellow box
saying "MyTitle" will appear in the browser - it goes away after about 5
sec. Is there a way to prolong the time of the box appearance in the
client browser?
Some browsers (Netscape - Mozilla) truncate the TITLE if the title is
longer than - say 50 letters or so.
Is there a way to control that?
In IE - if the title is very long - 1000 letters - the window will
flash.
Is the only way to avoid that to keep the title shorter?
Yes - I know that I'm trying to twist around the funcionality that this
attribute was meant for - but is there a way??

Re: HTML-Attribute TITLE - set funcionality?
This is definitely not ASP related, let alone asp.db related. It ~may~ be
possible that this delay is adjustable on the client-level by adjusting the
tool-tip time for the OS, if it's not adjustable at the browser level. Try
asking in an IE group, and you may find an answer there.

Isn't this kind of like asking a question about your portable DVD player at> that environment...
a toll both, because your kids are watching it while on the toll highway?
:-)
There are a bunch of client-side newsgroups that deal with HTML, client-side
script, and specific browsers.

Not at all, but this is pretty standard, common sense stuff. If I have a
question about flight schedules, I'm not going to call the bus station or
the school cafeteria and expect a helpful response.
