Default HTML Email created using Dreamweaver

I'm designing an HTML Email for an email blast, but when my friend has tried testing sending it out, it become one long column of information.

Currently, the page is in layers. Do I need to convert it to a table to get everything to hold its placement?

HTML email should be built using simple tables and inline styles.

There is no doubt that layers will blow up in most email applications.
