htmlMimeMail - Mail subjects with german umlauts - PHP Development

Hi, we use htmlMimeMail-2.5.1 (http://www.phpguru.org/mime.mail.html) to send mails. If I send an e-mail with the subject "Das l - l l - - test test" I will receive an e-mail with the subject "Das l - ll - - test test". Some spaces have been removed. Within the mail text I have no problems with german umlauts. Only in the subject. Does anybody know a solution? A modified version of the script is used in tikiwiki (http://tikiwiki.org/). You may want to try this other class that can be used to send messages
with umlaut characters in the subject or other headers or the message
body without any problems:

I use your class now. Umlauts can be used without problems in the subject.

Can I pass an HTML-Part which I have created with
CreateQuotedPrintableHTMLPart ($html_part) to the AddAlternativeMultipart
function? It seems to work.

Yes, actually you should always have an alternative text part for each
HTML part. They must be added by the correct order or else HTML capable
mail programs will show the text part instead of the HTML part. Just
take a look at the supplied example to compose HTML messages.

Hi

To solve htmlMimeMail issue which removes spaces in subject of emails with NON-ASCII characters you may do this:

Open htmlMimeMail.php

Find:
preg_match_all('/(\w*[\x80-\xFF]+\w*)/', $input, $matches);
Replace:
preg_match_all('/(\w*[\x80-\xFF[:blank:]]+\w*)/', $input, $matches);

And save the file.

This took my time and I hope this would save others time in future.
