Default Hundreds of .Lck files that we didn't lock

I manage an intranet and one of my users is having a nightmare of a problem.
She doesn't know what she did wrong, but Contribute has copied hundreds of
files to five different folders on her site (not the folders that those files
belong in) and has locked them and put them in her draft list. She can't
publish or cancel or send for review--Contribute locks up with any action.
Other users can't publish or cancel the files either. We don't even see them in
the file structure when using the "Choose" button to peruse the files. We can
see them, though, in the file structure when viewed outside of Contribute. The
only thing unusual about this particular user is that she is using 3.11 while
the rest of us have 3.10. I'm working on getting her downgraded sometime today
(IT has to do it). She says that she thinks the problem occurred when she used
the "Edit in External Application" feature and went to Dreamweaver, edited,
saved, and came back to Contribute.

I know others out there have had this problem. There was a previous post about
it from someone else, but it wasn't answered. Has anyone determined the cause
    for this, or--even better--the solution?

Default Re: Thousands of .Lck files that we didn't lock

Sounds like Dreamweaver checked out all the dependent files. I think I noticed
this behaviour when I was testing Contribute 3 and decided that it was safer to
    use the two applications separately.

If you know that there have been no changes to the files that DW checked out
(creating the .lck files) then go to the server and delete all the .lck files.
Just make sure you leave any .lck files belonging to other users. You may be
able to identify all the ones DW created by looking at the date-time stamp. You
can also open .lck files in Notepad to see who checked out the file.

That makes sense. I've disabled her check-in/check-out in Dreamweaver and we'll see if there are further problems.
