    Yes.

Luckily, PDFMaker is included with Acrobat.

    Default Hyperlinks

Is there a way to Hyperlink within InDesign? i.e. link a heading of a paragraph to text later in the document?

    Thanks! Erin

Yes, of course. There's a Hyperlinks Palette and verything you need to know in Help.

    Default Hyperlinks

The hyperlinks in my InDesign document don't activate once I've converted the document to PDF. I've followed the steps in the Help file to the letter, so I'm wondering if it's an Acrobat issue rather than an InDesign issue (I have Acrobat Professional). Incidentally, activating hyperlinks in a pdf document converted from Word (using the "pdf maker" icon in Word) doesn't seem to be a problem...Any suggestions?

A couple of suggestions. Are you making the hyperlinks using the make
hyperlink from text option? If so, does your text contain the http://
prefix? If not, the hyperlink won't be complete.

Are you seeing the hyperlinks in Acrobat but they just won't work? (does
holding the mouse over them show up the link?). I've started using Avant
Browser - a sort of enhanced Internet Explorer - and if I click a hyperlink
in a local PDF, the browser doesn't open, nor does the link work if the
browser is open. If I already have Internet Explorer open, however, clicking
the link will open the page in Explorer.

How are you creating the PDF? You need to export it directly from ID
with Acrobat 5 compatibility. You can't keep hyperlinks active in a
    distilled PDF.
