I am having problems downloading and watching videofootage.
I am having problems downloading and watching video footage.
I traced the problem to Flash and an apparent issue over writing previous
versions of the flash 9.ocx file as the file cannot be registered because the
previous file has read only permission.
I found this Microsoft web page and followed the instructions it cured many
problems but one program called 4oD to download British Channel 4 TV programs
still gives an error message referring to Flash registration on installation.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810422/en-us
"Licenses for your media files are corrupted" or "License is either corrupted
or not valid" error message when you try to play licensed media files
I got this message from them ? most of the links refer to old Flash WebPages,
which no longer exist. I am using XP Home, Media 11 and have tried upgrading
to the latest Flash program. I have uninstalled it and tried to use a
downloaded installer.
Dear Mark,
Thank you for your email regarding 4oD.
This is an issue with Adobe for the following reasons;
1. This issue has been around since Flash 7, 4oD has not.
2. the issue surrounds over writing previous versions of the flash 9.ocx file
3. This file cannot be registered because the previous file has read only
permission.
4. Adobes forums are full of people with this issue, most of which are from the
online gaming community and not customers of 4oD.
5. The reason why you are having problems now is because our site requires a
flash upgrade rather than using the flash version that you already have
installed.
Please feel free to forward this response to Adobe complete with the following

some users found that registering the plug in manually worked for them.
