I am having trouble connecting.
When I open contribute I get this message "you can't edit this page now because
Karen (dcbcom) is currently editng it. please contact loverwag@yahoo.com for
assistance."
What do I need to do in order to connect to my web site?

Re: I am having trouble connecting.
Currently, "Karen (dcbcom)" is editing that page and she has unpublished
drafts. Contribute has a locking mechanism which prevents users from
overwriting pages that are being edited. You would have to ask Karen to either
save or cancel her unpublished drafts. This would release the lock and enable
you to edit the page.

Re: I am having trouble connecting.
We deleted contribute on the computer that Karen was using and now we don't
have access to that computer. The message only shows up on the home page but
not the others. How can we unlock the mechanism?

Re: I am having trouble connecting.
connect via ftp/lan to your server. locate the _mm folder in your site and delete all its contents. then delete your connection and create a new one. this should do the trick.

Re: I am having trouble connecting.
Thank you zhayhieed,
We removed the _mm file and did a delete then reconnect and we are still
getting the message. We decided to move forward with Front Page. It is too
bad because I had high hopes for Contribute but this bug has hurt my
relationship with my client.

Re: I am having trouble connecting.
What about trying to use Dreamweaver to check out and remove the lock file?
1. Open the site files and go to Remote View.
2. Select the file that users cannot edit in Contribute.
3. Choose Check Out and if you are prompted to overwrite the check out,
select ?yes?.
4. Choose Check In to remove the lock file.
