Try locating the adobe font cache file. Throw in trash.
Then open Acrobat or Distiller. Let it rebuild the font cache. Mat help with loading speed.
Acrobat 7 does have a tendency to throw up the BeachBall frequently.
While 8 on OSX.4.3 or higher doesn't.
