i-book does not recognize cd/dvd drive

    Default i-book does not recognize cd/dvd drive

    the internal dvd/cd drive on my i-book does not work all of a sudden.
    could it just be an extension got turned off accidentally? the cd
    drive does not spin when i put a cd into it. any help would be
    appreciated

    I have the same problem on my graphite ibook. It was working fine, now,
    for some reason, it does not want to spin up. Let me know if you solved
    your problem, other than getting a new cdrom drive. Maybe it'll work for
    me too.
