I give up - sell me a shopping cart
I can't figure this out. There are too many differences between my
installation of osCommerce and what I read on these forums, and in the
contributions' readme files. I have either lost my logical skills or am
totally incapable of doing this on my own. Either way, I need help. I am
looking into other off the shelf products for around $100 that can give me
"some" of my needs, but not all. I don't think I need too, too much
different than osCommerce "out of the box", but what I need is important to
me. If someone has something like this ready made, I would appreciate your
help in getting my site p and running. I will purchase a ready to go
solution, or at least something close with some reliable support to help me
get the work done. If I wasn't in such a hurry, I wouldn't be so anal about
it.
I need a shopping cart solution that allows the following:
-> Use my current site layout
-> Allow for user logins, and track their activities
-> Store all data to a MySQL database
-> List categories as an image on the home page. Will need to navigate to
that category page and list related subcategories.
-> Subcategories, when clicked, should show the subcategory products
-> Products, when clicked, should display details about that product,
including images.
-> Need to be able to add multiple images. These images should be uploaded
to my ftp server.
-> Prefer a wysywig for the text, and if possible, for the graphics, too.
-> Need it to auto integrate with my Pay Pal account, to autocreate a "Buy"
button for a paypal purchase.
-> Need an admin screen to manage the above.
I know I'll have a few more small requirements, but this is the main meat to
me.
If there's an add in for Dreamweaver MX that will also create and
add data to a MySQL database, that would be great.
Please contact me if you can assist.
Thanks.

Re: I give up - sell me a shopping cart
I don't think this was a bad thing, to answer my request for help with an
opensource product, and then to offer help. I am sorry, however, if I asked
this question in the wrong place. I know this forum is for the benefit of
all programmers, that each might learn from the answers provided here. I'll
do my best to post answers here, and should I arrive at a solution
elsewhere, I'll try and remember to post it here as well.
Thanks, Brian.
