I just bought the CS upgrade and it keeps crashing

I have tried to install it several times and after I put in my password it tells me:

The application Install Adobe IllustratorCS
has unexpectedly quit.

Any chance anyone would know why or what to do? I have an assignment due on friday and need the update.

Did you repair your permissions before trying to install did you run the disk first aid from the CD? Do you have Norton Anti Virus? Do you want to tell us about your computer and how you have it set up?

how do I repair permission? yes I have norton anti virus I have a mac running osx 10.3.3 and run disk first aid from what cd.

I'm kinda new at macs so I'm not familiar with how to fix things. But thank you for responding! :)

I can't even take credit for this. It's just something I read maybe 6 times a weeek...

Repairing permissions is done in Disk First Aid. Go to Your Appications folder>Utilities and double click Disk Utility. Select the First Aid tab, choose your main drive then select "Repair Disk Permissions" and let it run it's course. You really should do that after all updates and installs.
