    Tania,

    You can try using the following:

    declare today datetime
    set today=getdate()

    declare midnight datetime
    set midnight=convert(nvarchar, today, 102)

    -- to check
    select getdate(), today, midnight

    Try looking up the CONVERT and CAST functions
    in Books OnLine, they're really well doented.

    Regards,
    Danny
