I need help remembering MacPaint - Mac Applications & Software

Since I could not find one, I'm writing a program to do seamless tiling from images. I also want it to do some drawing. I'll release this as freeware or cheap shareware. I'd like to use modifier key combinations like those used by the original MacPaint, but it's been long since I've had a machine capable of running MacPaint, and I'm having a hard time remembering them. Since I could not find one, I'm writing a program to do seamless
tiling from images. I also want it to do some drawing. I'll release
this as freeware or cheap shareware.

I'd like to use modifier key combinations like those used by the
original MacPaint, but it's been long since I've had a machine
capable of running MacPaint, and I'm having a hard time
    remembering them.

I think the command key was used to shrink and grow images
within a marquee. Option was copy, with a drag from a marquee
or lasso image. Shift, I think, constrained a rectangular or linear
    drag-out to a 45 degree rosetta.

Does anybody remember these better than I or have a link to a
    list?

Thank you, Matt. Someone suggested this previously. It
doesn't do what I want, unfortunately, which is automatic
generation of irregular edges minimizing an error function
forming a patch which tiles the plane and can be folded into
a rectangular tile. Automatic generation of consistent sets
of Wang tiles will also be desirable at some point.

It isn't surprising that TextueMagic doesn't do this, because
effective algorithms didn't start appearing until 2001, and
really good algorithms didn't appear until this summer.
There are some older algorithms, but they are poor at
    preserving large-scale features.

Anyway, once you know that it's possible, the algorithm
isn't hard to write, and that part's done. But I'd like to
give back to and enhance the Macintosh community.
