    Default I/O Error while saving

Sorry, this may sound a little vague but I'm not by the machine that has this problem. G4/OSX 10.3/AI 10- when saving a file an I/O error occurs and fails to save but if I Save As and change the name of the file it's OK. Any ideas? Will post again as soon as I'm back by the machine

Are you saving to a server? This was a problem with AI 10.0.1 and 0.2 I believe.

Also, Norton AntiVirus can interfere with the save process. Try disabling it.

Thanks for your messages. I'm using AI 10.0.3 and saving to a server but not using Norton Anti Virus. Have read that Adobe don't recommend saving AI files over a network but surely most people do this if they have a large archive.

Some do without trouble... but if you're having trouble, you know why.

Sometimes this is the result of the clocks between your machine and the server not being synchronized. Such trouble can corrupt PS files terribly.

Save locally and drag them over.

It's a good idea to do the following:
plz check if you're connecting with the server as 'afp' and press the '+'
finder--> go--> connect with server --> change smb in the adress to afp,
delete the smb adress, and connect with the new,
This should solve te problem, as it did with ours. Also to avoid temp files etc.!
    Good luck
