I want a scroll bar. I might die.

So I've been reading through the help files and my "Flash MX2004 for Dummies"
for a while now... still haven't quite got it. I have a staticframe based
website I'm working on - which includes links to text (hopefully). After
harrassing some people on IRC, I got info on how to use actionscript in a movie
clip to simply load a text file into a dynamic text field... but now I want it
to scroll. The scroll option by right clicking the menu etc. isn't working. I
don't really understand the coding all that much and the help files ain't
helping.

Please save me!!!

is actually quite easy to use. MAybe it is of help:

It took me hours to find people on mIRC to get the text working ... but this
time I'm taking initiative!

what was the file format? I changed the extension to FLA and I cannot load it into MX 2004

Although, I find more and more people using RAR files than Zips nowadays.

Howie,
If you took a small amount of time to look through other posts you'd
find that John (Laivard.com) is one of the most helpful contributers to
these fora.

Unless my powers of comprehension are completely inept, it seems to me that
John was trying to make a helpful suggestion so that you might get your
question answered quicker.

The very fact that he took time to read and reply (several times) to your
posts would imply tht he was interested in helping YOU.
Somehow I dont think he's so interested after your last post.....
