    Hi there,

For some inexplicable reason my ibook has ceased to READ, ERASE, or
RE-WRITE on any CDRWs previously burnt in the same drive. I just get a
message telling me that the disk is "locked". Can anyone help?

N.B. This is an internal ibook CD-RW drive.

I've only ever been able to burn and read CDRW's. I can't erase them on
my G4's Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104 unless I use a program like Discrib or
Toast. Discrib uses it's own CD driver. Could yours be replacing the
    Apple driver?

Should Apple's driver allow the Finder to erase CD-RW's?

I don't believe the Finder can erase CD-RWs, but Disk Copy can.

Not the version (6.3.3) that's on MacOS 9.2.2. There's no function on
any of the menu options I can see that offers an erase function. What
version are you using on what OS?

Sorry, I thought you were talking about OS X. My mistake.
