IBOOK MODEM UPDATE???

Do anybody know how to update the firmware
of the iBook modem???

I have a Late 2001 Model iBook and it disconnects
from the Internet all the time!! I have an old G3/300
with an external Supra modem and it never disconnects
and the connection is fast and reliable. With the iBook
is slower, and as I said, it disconnects all the time.

IS THERE A WAY TO UPDATE THE FIRMAWRE OR SOFTWARE FOR
THE IBOOK MODEM???

(you know like you could do with external modems)


PS. The Mac OS X modem update at Apple's is not what I
need since that is just a software fix for Mac OS X
and not the modem itself.

Are you sure the Apple update is not for the modem software(firmware)?
