Default ID CS (3.0.1) Frequent Crashes when opening 2.0.2 Files

I find that InDesign crashes a lot when opening legacy files. Didn't see anyything here about it. Anyone experiencing the same problem or know of a fix?

Windows 2000, P4 dual processor, 500 MB Ram
Every file thus far that has crashed contains an ITEM Marks layer from the old ALAP Item Marks program, but when I eliminate that layer (using the older version of InDesign) then save and reopen with CS, same thing, CS starts to load the program than crashes saying that it couldn't "open the memory")

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. Some of my files from 2.0 will open in CS and some will not. I no longer have 2.0 so I have no way of comparing the older files to see what opens and what doesn't. Any suggestions would help.
    Thanks.

    Cliff,

My problem was with ID 2.0.2 files that contain information for ALAP InBooklet plug-in (already uninstalled).
Nothing helped until I copied and pasted in new document page by page.

IMy crash files each contain an ALAP Item Marks layer, maybe there is a tie in?

    Thanks for the comment.

It happens all the time with me too. I even uninstalled 2.02 to see if that would help, but it didn't. I'm scared to call Adobe because they charge £29 even if it's their problem; which it is. I've seen no indication of a bug-fix either.
I wonder if Adobe monitor this discussion??
