ID CS font issue
Howdy.
I've got someone using InDesign CS who is having a font problem.
He's doing his layouts on his home PC with a font set installed from the
Adobe Font Folio and managed with ATM Deluxe. When he moves the
document to his office machine with the same font set, ID asks for fonts
he did not originally use, or even have installed on his home machine.
In particular, he's using Gil Sans. Everything is fine on his home
machine, but in the office, ID asks where "Gil Sans OTF" is. He says
he doesn't have this installed on either machine.
So, I've been asked to help him figure this out, and I'm hoping one
of y'all will be able to help me help him.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: ID CS font issue
I believe Gil Sans OTF is a font that comes with Corel, not sure but...
Before he sends you anything he should use the Package Utility via File>Package and include the fonts.
When you package a publication it will include every font that is needed for that publication.
"doing his layouts on his home PC with a font set installed from the Adobe Font Folio"
Wow, he must be RICH! Might as well hire a professional to do it. <g>

Re: ID CS font issue
I have encountered something similar with InDesign on a Mac before. Let me describe:
I'm using Warnock Pro Bold Display (opentype font)and Futura Bold as fonts in my document (among 10-12 other fonts), but no other versions of these two specific font families. At some point I get a missing font message requesting me to install "Futura Bold Display," a font that I've never used and doesn't even exist!!
What seems to happen is that occasionally InDesign gets confused over a space at the end of a block of text and mislabels this space as a known font with another font's attributes.
The only fix I've found is to Find Font>Find First and Change with the correct font used in the offending text block.

Where in the menu is "Find Font"?

It's also in the preflight tool, which you may not have found yet. You'll
like it, even though it isn't as elaborate as some of the big third-party
tools.
