Default ID2: Help with eye-dropper tool.

I cannot get the eyedropper tool to behave. The text I selected was 8.5 pt. Frutiger, yet when I use the eyedropper to format text, it ends up 12 pt. Helvetica (a size and font used nowhere in the document).

If I Alt+click on the text I want to sample, the curson changes as it should when I press Alt, but when I click, the curser changes back to a filled dropper, and formats the text (yes, 12 pt. Helvetica). And no, I did not release the Alt key.

    What's going on?

Got a character style on that same text? Maybe fighting over control of the styling? BTW, double-click on the Eyedropper tool to turn on and off some sampling features.

No character or paragraph styles used. I tried that trick and got it to work. All I wanted was the paragraph rule I was using to shade alternate lines of a table.
