ID3: Cannot set tabs

I have a text block that won't let me set tabs with the mouse. I can type a location for a tab, and the tab appears on the ruler (in gray, not black). Moving a tba requires me to clear all tabs, then reenter all values by typing.

Restarting ID does not help.

No, I tried deleting prefs. The tabs worked perfectly for five minutes, then went back to MS mode.

Delete the boogers again. If it messes up again then we'll have to wait for someone else to give you the answer or check the KB.

Don't see aht good that will do. I don't want to keep deleting my preferences five times and hour. And I lost my print presets.

Advice for a longer life: do not cut me off today on the commute home.

No, I didn't mean to keep deleting them all day. Just once more to see if it makes the problem disappear and stay gone this time.
